It is official now that Trisha is not going to act with Nagarjuna' in his soon-to-be launched Don. She was earlier signed on the film but now the makers are on the look out for another heroine to replace her. Producer M. L.Kumar Chowdhary has confirmed that Trisha is not doing the film. Says Chowdhary: "We are still on the look out for a heroine. We are considering Mamta Mohandas but nothing has been finalized." Trisha has been made the scapegoat for the colossal failure of Sainikudu. Added to this, her other release in 2006, Pournami was also a disaster. Though Stalin was above average, it did not help her to improve her ratings. When contacted Trisha said: “ I tried my best to adjust my dates for Don. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to give immediate dates due to my prior commitments. I am doing Adavari Matalaki Arthalu Verule with Venky, till the end of the month." She added: " My Bheema with Vikram is starting again by the end of the month. Then there is Kireedam in Tamil with Ajit. I am getting a lot of offers from Telugu and Tamil but will take a call on it only after I complete my present films by March end.” Trisha immediately needs to reinvent herself to be in the race. We are sure that this talented actress will make a strong come back with Adavari Matalaki Arthalu Verule which insiders say is shaping out superbly. The film is sure to make her bounce back. 
If sources are to be believed Nagarjuna's Don will start rolling from January 18th. Contrary to reports in media, the heroine has not yet been finalized. Earlier Trisha was signed on for this film but she's no longer doing the film. A newcomer would best suits the role is what unit members say. Hence Mamata Mohandas is seriously being considered but nothing has been decided. Directed by Lawrence, the film will project hero Nagarjuna in a complete different manner. Lawrence is turning music director with this film and he is already said to have composed few songs. 
Kamal Haasan received the first- ever 'Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for Excellence in Cinema' for his immense contribution to Tamil cinema from veteran actress Saroja Devi, at the mega awards distribution function of Viay TV held in Chennai Saturday.Kamal said that it was director K Balachandar and Nagesh, who had pushed him to achieve this. Remembering his association with actor- wizard Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal said that he aspired to give away the award to another eligible artiste in the days to come.Two other awards - 'Superstar of Tomorrow' and 'Youth Icon of the year' were received by Vijay and Vikram respectively. The other recipients included :Favorite Film : Devar Magan, Favorite Hero: Ajith, Favorite 
With never ending shooting schedules, Trisha had no rest and no time to spend with her mom. She was finally relieved when she could relax and also go abroad. While a majority of the stars celebrated the New Year in 5 star hotels, Trisha went to the US where 3 of her classmates live. Even on ordinary days, Las Vegas is the centre of entertainment and gambling. For the New Year, it was almost heaven in its glitter and glamour. And that's where Trisha spent her New Year with her pals. Here, there are no cops to breathe down your neck if you drink, dance or sing and no media to publish gossip about something or other. On return from the US, Trisha acts in a Telugu film directed by Selvaraghavan!
